Therapy

I provide individual therapy for adults in-person in Dundas, Ontario, and virtually across Ontario. My focus is on supporting and increasing your understanding of yourself, including your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. My therapeutic approach is integrative, and based on my training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, client-centred approaches, attachment-based therapies, and cognitive-behavioural therapy. My approach is flexible and collaborative.

I have experience working with individuals struggling with a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depressed mood, trauma, grief, identity concerns, and relationship issues. I have particular expertise working with individuals in the perinatal transition, based on several years training and working at the Women’s Health Concerns Clinic at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. I also have experience and interest in working with neurodivergent folks in an affirming manner.

Assessment

I provide psychodiagnostic assessments for adults seeking to understand their mental health. I am able to provide diagnoses, if appropriate, and treatment recommendations, including recommendations for school or work.

Psychodiagnostic assessments typically consist of a clinical interview, completion of psychological measures, and sometimes input from a close person in your life. A report is then written, and a feedback meeting is held in order to explain and discuss the results and recommendations. Assessments can be completed virtually or in person.

I also provide assessments of ADHD and Autism for adults. The process tends to be similar as the one described above.

I am unable to provide psychoeducational assessments, which are focused on cognitive and academic functioning.
